WPCS International Incorporated a leader in design-build engineering services for specialty communication systems and wireless infrastructure, has announced that, through its subsidiaries, it has received approximately $9 million in new contracts. The contracts include projects to be completed for Iron Mountain, The Monmouth County Office of Emergency Management, YMCA, Group Health Tacoma, UPS, Girard College and CalPERS.
In addition, WPCS was selected by the University of California Cooperative Extension to deploy a wireless data collection network. As a land-grant institution, the Cooperative Extension conducts research for the welfare, development and protection of California agriculture and natural resources. The project entails the deployment of wireless devices powered by solar energy located at certain watersheds throughout the state. These wireless devices will obtain data on the volume and chemical composition of the water collected through natural rainfall and will transmit the data via a wireless connection back to the science center for analysis. Currently, scientists have to physically visit each watershed to obtain the data from manual recording devices which has been time consuming.
Chuck Madenford, Executive Vice President of WPCS commented, “The project with the University of California Cooperative Extension is another example of how wireless technology saves time and money while increasing productivity. WPCS has excelled in engineering solutions that combine wireless technology with a solar energy source. With our technological capability, WPCS is receiving many requests to bid these types of specialized wireless solutions.”
