TimberSil Wood Siding
TimberSil-treated wood uses a permanent, inorganic mineralization process rather than toxic chemicals to achieve decay- and insect-resistant wood for all uses, including ground contact. The company has introduced two traditional clapboard siding profiles—other profiles may be special-ordered—that are stainable and paintable, class-A fire-rated, Cradle-to-Cradle certified, and have a 40-year warranty.

The sodium-silicate-based treatment results in a product characterized by the manufacturer as a “glass/wood fusion” that’s non-toxic, odorless, and nonvolatile, as well as not corrosive to fasteners, unaffected by heat and seawater, and worked like regular wood.
