The Phoenix Solar Water Heater incorporates a heat exchanger for solar collectors or other alternative heat sources, along with a backup gas burner that operates at 97 percent thermal efficiency. Spartan Steel Coating has been given a 50 percent property tax break for six years on a $13.5 million investment in new machinery at its plant in Frenchtown Township.
