S. Korean machinery exports forecast to grow 13.8 pct this year

South Korea’s machinery exports are expected to increase 13.8 percent this year, led by the continuos demand for chips, construction and shipbuilding equipment, a trade association said Thursday. According to the Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI), exports of machinery will amount to US$28.67 billion this year, while imports will increase 14.1 percent to reach $27.83 billion.
