Hawthorne Place District:585 West Hawthorne

Hawthorne Street is one of the few streets along the city’s north lakefront that was developed for, and has mostly retained, large single-family residences on large lots. The residences, several of which were designed by prominent architects, offer an interesting variety of architectural styles such as Victorian-era, Arts and Crafts, and Colonial. This Queen Anne-style wood-frame house was built in the 1890s and had been covered with synthetic siding....
