Vandals have caused more than $2 million damage to a quarry operated by Cockburn Cement in Perth’s southern suburbs.
Several pieces of expensive mining equipment were damaged during the attack, which police believe took place late yesterday afternoon.
Police say it appears the offenders hot wired a dump truck, which was used to push other equipment including a crane into a nearby lake at the bottom of the quarry.
The machinery remains half submerged in the lake, and efforts are currently underway to retrieve it.
