German manufacturer Lechuza is now offering its elegant and innovative line of self-watering planters in the United States. Using a built-in reservoir as part of a self-watering system, these planters provide water and nutrients needed to grow healthy edibles and beautiful flowering plants with virtually no effort.
Unable to find a planter that met his demands, he assigned a team of his developers to create a stylish, self-watering planter. What they created met Brandstaetter’s demands for both beauty and functionality and led to the manufacture and worldwide distribution of Lechuza planters.
The heart of the Lechuza planter is its unique self-watering system. Inside its stylish exterior is a second container made from completely recycled plastic which holds the plant, its soil and a layer of special media that perfectly controls the supply of water to the plant. Inside the container is a reservoir that is filled from the top of the planter via a convenient water supply shaft. A water level indicator makes it easy to see when more water is needed. For outdoor use there is a removable drain plug that automatically prevents over-watering during rainy periods.
Lechuza’s award winning designs and wide range of fashionable colors in matte, glossy or textured finishes ensure that there is a perfect planter for every setting indoors or out. Larger planters include a wheeled coaster that hides out of sight but makes moving and rearranging plants a much easier task.
The variety of shapes, sizes and styles will accommodate anything from a windowsill herb garden to large plants and small trees. Constructed from durable ABS and polypropylene plastic and coated with high-quality finishes, Lechuza planters are completely recyclable, while certain parts are made of recycled plastic.
