Claimed to be the highest tower in Shenzhen, This skyscraper building the Ping An Finance Center is designed by KPF a.k.a Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the architectural firm that provides architectural, interior and urban design as well as programming and master planning services for clients in both the public and private sectors. This 660 meters, 115 floors building situated at the southwest corner of the intersection of Yi Tian Road and Fu Hua Road in the Futian District and it will become the anchor of the city’s new Central Business District.
In designing this skyscraper KPF explained that “The façade system incorporates a complementary language of light colored stone and glazing. Chevron-shaped stone panels sheath the vertical superstructure and highlight the perimeter columns that feature eight-story diagonal braces. The subtle expression of the structural culminates at the spire where the superstructure merges into one visual element meeting the sky”. via
