Pentons Fire Chief Magazine Announces 2008 National Station Style Design Award Winners

Penton Media’s Fire Chief® magazine announces the winners of its eighth annual Station Style Fire Station Design Awards program, which recognizes outstanding architecture and design from fire departments nationwide. Gold, silver, and bronze awards were announced in five categories: volunteer departments, career departments, satellite stations, shared-facilities, and renovated fire stations. All participating entries will be published in the November issue of Fire Chief.

“There has been significant changes in fire and emergency facilities over the eight years of Design Awards,” said Janet Wilmoth, editorial director of Fire Chief magazine. “Not only have the winning stations have reflected the changing role of fire departments across the country, but fire sprinklers in these facilities, meeting rooms for the community and fitness areas have become routine in this year’s facilities.
