PCL Centennial Learning Centre, Edmonton The PCL Centennial Learning Centre was built in celebration of PCL’s corporate centennial and focuses on staff training and education. It includes a large training room for up to 60 people, rooms dedicated to remote training for worldwide personnel, professional development and human resource offices, a new corporate boardroom, and an assembly hall to host PCL staff functions. As part of the construction of the Learning Centre, the PCL campus was redeveloped to present a new and exciting image in addition to the creation of universal access and building interconnectivity to two existing campus buildings. The site development includes a sunken private garden for the staff and a new parking area. In terms of environmental sustainability, the Centennial Learning Centre project has achieved the LEED® Gold certification level.

A low volume drip landscape irrigation systems is fed by available collected rainwater which is stored in a 16,800 litre cistern tank located beneath the garden. The use of rainwater fed irrigation and the selection of water efficient landscaping assist in reducing potable water demand by 52%.
