Parsons has been awarded a $98 million construction contract from the Idaho Transportation Department for the U.S. 95 Sandpoint Byway. U.S. 95 is Idaho’s main north-south route, and the new byway will divert through-traffic around Sandpoint.
Parsons will construct 2.1 miles of new two-lane and three-lane highway along the east side of Sand Creek, including a full interchange, a 3/4 interchange, three steel girder bridges, a steel arch girder bridge, 17 mechanically stabilized earth walls, and a pedestrian walkway and bike path. Parsons will also perform associated shoreline reconditioning and dredging.
“Parsons is a partner of choice for the construction of complex projects, delivering value and innovation to our clients,” said Andy Albrecht, Parsons Group President. “We’re pleased to assist the Idaho Transportation Department on this long-awaited project.”
Construction is expected to be completed in summer 2012.
