Henning Larsen Architects is an international architecture company with strong Scandinavian roots with goal is to create vibrant, sustainable buildings that reach beyond themselves and become of durable value to the user and to the society and culture that they are built into. This company have received so many awards and win in many different competition in the world for their awesome proposal design. One of their great achievement is winning a tender of a competition for Nordea Bank’s new office building of 40,000 m2 in Ørestad North, Copenhagen, next to the premises of the Danish Broadcasting Corporation and the Concert Hall – Koncerthuset.
In designing the proposal for this Nordea Bank, Henning Larsen Architects do a collaboration with a team consisting of Signal Architects and SLA Landscape Architects. and the result is The new building of Nordea Bank will comprise Scandinavia’s largest trading floor of 5,500 m2 with a view of the green area of Amager Fælled. Stage one covering a total of 40,000 m2 consists of two light, sculptural buildings placed on a base. The architectural concept reflects the functionality of the buildings. Thus, the effective office floors are all placed on top of the base, while the shared, outward functions are placed in the base.
