Mantero ReSilk Upholstery Fabrice

Mantero, an Italian manufacturer of silk for top fashion brands since 1902, is entering the upholstery fabric market with ReSilk, a plush felt made from 50 percent pre-consumer recycled silk and 50 percent wool.

The naturally flame- retardant fabric is recyclable and biodegradable, and is manufactured in a water-based, mechanical process without chemical additives or toxic byproducts. Combining softness with sheen, the nonwoven fabric-available in a range of thicknesses-can be printed, dyed, and even molded or laser-engraved.
