Local Gladstone Homes Continues to Thrive and Build Communities in Spite of Market Turn Down

Saturday, August 2nd 2008

The home building industry continues to endure challenging economic times as the state of the U.S. economy faces a slow down. According to a recent report by the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), housing sector activity has declined by an additional 30 percent due to the credit market crisis. In fact, single housing starts are down 63 percent from peak levels of production with some of the most troubled markets down 80 percent or more.* As a result, many home builders are forced to close their doors and stop in mid-build, leaving home owners and sub-contractors, as well as entire communities in some cases, victims in its wake. Yet, despite the current economic climate, Gladstone Homes (http://www.gladstonehomes.com), a premier builder of quality, high-end new homes in the greater Chicago Illinois area (Aurora, Elgin, Naperville, Plainfield & Yorkville), continues to successfully stay the course by recognizing and aggressively addressing the challenges that many new home buyers face during this economy.

Gladstone Homes offer home buyers a variety of attractive incentives, such as free options and upgrades in many of its new homes. These incentives greatly assist home buyers who are seeking a quality built home without having to sacrifice the amenities and options they desire. To even further assist customers, Gladstone Homes has instituted numerous cost-saving options that are designed to help off-set immediate as well as future costs with a wide range of limited-time promotional incentives. A recent “green” focused promotional event included a new Toyota Prius with the purchase of a home and $75,000 in free energy-efficient and luxury options — with Gladstone Homes paying the utility bills for the new homes for up to five years.

“We always make every effort to respond to the needs and concerns of the families who visit our communities, and we believe Gladstone’s promotional incentives and service offerings will address some of the biggest hurdles they face in the current economy,” said Katie Minott, General Sales Manager of Gladstone Homes. “As a semi-custom home builder, we know that there’s no ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to a customer’s home, and we extend that thinking to our incentives.”

Gladstone Homes, which was started nearly two decades ago, is passionate about keeping the local area economy stimulated. Headquartered in North Aurora, Illinois, Gladstone realizes that the economic slowdown directly impacts sub-contractors, vendors and other trade partners involved in or related to the local home building industry. Thanks to a solid set of ethical business practices, along with smart business decisions, Gladstone Homes has kept their trade partners working. By providing ongoing opportunities, as well as paying its vendors on a consistent basis, Gladstone Homes has been able to keep workers on the job.

Currently, Gladstone Homes is building at seven new home communities in Elgin, North Aurora, Plainfield and Yorkville, Ill.
