Turkey Weight and Pan Size: Northland’s patented, above-box design enables a depth of 20.5 inches so even the largest roasting pans can be accommodated inside the 48- through 72-inch combination refrigerator/freezers:

* 10 to 14 lbs: Medium birds will fit a 14″ x 10″ x 2 1/2″ pan
* 14 to 20 lbs: Large birds will fit a 17″ x 11 1/2″ x 2 1/2″ pan

Pan Type: For best results, roast your turkey on a wire rack in an open roasting pan. And, because of the turkey’s weight, a sturdy pan with good handles is recommended. If a foil roasting pan is used, double it for extra strength and take special care when transferring the pan into and out of the oven.

Safe Thawing: According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) it’s best to plan ahead for slow, safe thawing in the refrigerator:
