CertainTeed’s Ecophon Ceiling Panels
July 20th, 2008 - Posted in Construction, Green Homes
The base component of CertainTeed’s five families of Ecophon fiberglass acoustic ceilings is made with over 70 percent post-consumer glass bottles and jars. Most Ecophon panels have passed California’s indoor air quality standard (01350) and have been placed on the Low-emitting Materials Table by the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS).
Several lines offer an anti-glare coating that makes them especially appropriate for daylighting or indirect lighting applications. According to the manufacturer, the sound absorption of these panels substantially outperforms more commonly used mineral-fiber acoustic ceiling panels.
