Charles R. Stinson’s architecture is chronicled in a new book within the Master Architect Monograph Series entitled Charles R. Stinson: Compositions in Nature. The modern architecture book, with text by Camille LeFevre and photography by Peter Bastianelli-Kerze, features Stinson-designed homes and buildings that have achieved international recognition along with his distinctive style—light, line and space expressing a dynamic co-existence.
Charles R. Stinson: Compositions in Nature is available in bookstores globally and through www.amazon.com and www.barnesandnoble.com. This is the eighth book that Stinson has been featured in including three additions of 100 of the World’s Best Houses, which highlight modern architecture.
The Master Architect Series is a valuable reference source to the most notable architecture of our time, according to IMAGES, the publisher of the book who for more than 25 years has produced premier books linked to architecture and excellence in worldwide design. “Architects and firms featured in this series represent the best of today’s practitioners in this ever-evolving profession, providing leadership and inspiration to the next generation of architects,” said Joe Boschetti, IMAGES Marketing Manager. “Each publication showcases an architect or firm whose body of work has made a significant contribution to contemporary architecture and reflects each master architect’s unique and innovative designs.”
For more than 30 years, Stinson has honed an original compositional methodology elastic enough to encompass a range of site conditions, geographical locations and project types…from a bank to a poolside gazebo, from an entire master-planned community to a condominium, and from a new lakeside or a new urban home to a rural renovation. Many of these outstanding modern architecture projects are featured in this monograph and include Stinson’s signature drawings.
As his practice moves forward with a focus on green technologies and materials, Stinson’s self-appointed challenge is to evolve his singular architectural methodology to encompass new possibilities as they reveal themselves with both integrity and flexibility. His national and international clients have visions of an architectural future that surpass even his own expectations.
“Architecture is about the invisible, like faith,” says Stinson. “It manifests the dreams people have.” As Stinson’s practice and design philosophies evolve, he’s ready to travel the world to make that happen—sketchbook and color pencils in hand.
