The Dyson Airblade is the first, and so far the only, electric hand dryer to be certified by the National Sanitation Foundation under its Hygienic Commercial Hand Dryers protocol P335. The touch-free, 1400-watt unit uses highly pressurized air to blow water off users’ hands during an energy-saving 12-second average cycle, operating at about 84 dB.
If a user hasn’t removed their hands from the unit after 30 seconds, it shuts off. A replaceable HEPA filter removes 99.9 percent of the bacteria from the air used to dry hands. The die-cast aluminum casing has a scratchproof coating with a silver-ion antimicrobial treatment. Dyson B2B; Chicago, IL. www.dysonairblade.com; 888-397-6622.
